My Poor Deserted Blog

I have heard from a lot of people that I have a LOT of catching up to do on my blog.  I am well aware of how behind I am and it isn't for lack of material that is for sure.  In a word my reason for being so behind is simply exhaustion.  The last 10 weeks (my blog leave of absence) has worn me to the ground.  Besides working, chasing after my rambunctious little toddler and being (very!) pregnant I have attended a bridal shower, my baby shower, two weddings and thrown two birthday parties.  I have written at least 5 blogs in my head but never found the energy to sit at the computer and type them out.   My extremely large belly has found me more physically tired than ever before and I have to admit the emotions have hit me hard as well.  I like to think I am a pretty tough person but when your baby turns 2, you are a part of one of your two best friends getting married and you have a little girl due in just a few weeks you tend to fall victim to the cheesy, stereotypical, emotional pregnant woman syndrome.  I have had a million emotions going through my mind these past few weeks and even though I would love to get them all written down I just don't think I have it in me; at least not now (I can't stay up that late!)  So instead I will share some of the pictures from the past few weeks.  I may be tired and worn down but I have been blessed with beautiful people in my life who make everything worth it.

My mom threw me a beautiful baby shower to welcome our little girl on April 21st, the same day as my mom's birthday.  It was a perfect day and I was so blessed with my family and friends who attended.



On April 27 Nathan turned 2 years old.  Ray and I took him to the Safari Park in Palm Dessert to celebrate.  That following Sunday we had a birthday party at our home to celebrate him.  Both were fantastic days!

On May 11 I attended my brother's wedding in Fullerton, CA.

And on May 19 I was the maid of honor and Nathan was the ring bearer in my best friend Christy's wedding.




May 19 was also Ray's birthday.  He was gracious enough to veto his birthday this year for Christy's big day but we still celebrated him.

SO as you can see, I have been very busy!  I hope to not let another 10 weeks pass before blogging again but with what I have coming my way I can't make any promises!

It Never Fails

Every time I box up clothes that Nathan has outgrown I get emotional.  I tell myself not to but it never fails, when I see the clothes packed away to make room for bigger ones I end up reflecting on how big he is getting so quickly and I remember all the fun times he had in the outfits I'm packing up.  Yesterday I packed up some winter pj's that no longer fit him.  I bought them before Christmas and got them big so he could wear them longer.  The first few times he wore them I had to roll up the sleeves because they were so big, but there I was packing them up because he had gotten too big for them.  Nathan was sleeping at the time and I looked at him in his crib and couldn't believe how big he looked in there.  The first time we put him in his crib he looked so small in the giant crib and now it looked so proportional.  It is hard to believe I have a walking toddler where my little infant used to sleep. Really?!

Nathan and Casey's personalities are bursting through right now and I am loving watching them shine. Some days I feel like I am raising a comedian with the things Nathan says and does. A while back he picked up saying "really" in a funny/sarcastic way. It came through something like this:  Me: Nathan, it's time for bed. Nathan: Really?! Or Me: Nathan, you need to eat all your dinner. Nathan: Really?! And Nathan, I was a little kid like you Really?! Every once and a while he changes it to "no way!" He says it like he just can't believe what I am telling him or like I'm talking nonsense. It's like he went from 3 to 13! Lately I have also been saying "really?" a lot also. I remember being worried, right before I had Casey, that I was ruining Nathan's life by bringing someone else into his world. Time Flies

When you have kids one of the first things you often hear is to enjoy every moment because time flies.  That statement is true but the problem with it is timing.  When you have a newborn you are tired from not sleeping, you are feeding every two (ish) hours and are overwhelmed by the task of keeping another person alive.  It is a lot to handle and enjoying every moment is hard.  As the baby (ies) get older that gets easier.  They hit milestones, start crawling, walking, talking and get more enjoyable every day.  They smile at you and hold your finger and make your heart melt.  Just as you start to enjoy the moments time starts picking up.  You find yourself scrambling to preserve the moments through photos and videos and get overwhelmed trying to keep them all organized.  If you are like me you try to find balance between living in the moment and making sure you capture enough memories to look back on after the moment has passed.  Do yo...
